On July 9, 2025, IRRDB Workshop on Tapping Panel Dryness Rehabilitation Technology was successfully held in Changjiang, Hainan. More than 90 representatives from Rubber Authority of Thailand, Malaysian Rubber Board, Rubber Research Institute of India, Rubber Research Institute of Vietnam, and Rubber Research Institute of Cambodian attended the Workshop.

Organized by IRRDB Molecular Biology and Physiology Specialist Group jointing with Crop Management Specialist Group in collaboration with Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS), the workshop focused on mechanism and control of TPD, multi-omics and tapping physiology, cultivation ecology and pest/disease control in rubber trees. The theme, “Cooperation on Tapping Panel Dryness (TPD) Rehabilitation Technology for Sustainable Natural Rubber Production”, was explored through 8 country reports which includes China, Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. 17 renowned scientists in the fields of physiology, molecular biology, cultivation science, and plant protection shared their cutting-edge research advances and successful experiences.

The workshop shared the information of current situation of TPD and latest research results and sound technology for TPD rehabilitation from IRRDB member countries, it also enhanced the cooperation on TPD rehabilitation technology to promote the sustainable production of natural rubber.

Participants also visited the Guangba Farm in Dongfang City to observe the effectiveness of TPD rehabilitation technology in field demonstration.
